Birrieria Toro Rojo is a food truck that was established in March 2021. We specialize in Birria, a traditional dish from the state of Jalisco. It is traditionally slow cooked and then served in soup or stew. Here at Birrieria Toro Rojo we serve tacos, nachos, ramen and much more. Be sure to TRY THE FRIES!!! Combining our Mexican tradition with a variety of entrees gives it a whole different taste and style. The Food Truck was originally opened in Durham, NC. This family business is owned by husband and wife, Gabriel and Maribel. Birrieria Toro Rojo had great success in the “BULL CITY”. Gabriel would commute week after week from VA to NC to operate the food truck. In June of 2022 the pair would travel to Mexico to advance the US Resident process for Gabriel. Unfortunately, Gabriel was denied re-entry into the US. The family made the tough decision to close in Durham, NC and relocate the food truck closer to home in Lynchburg, VA.
